Time flies. It has been almost a year since I snapped off my locks.
First, I cut it short with permed, light brown hair – it took me a while to get used to having permed hair. There were mornings when I woke up and I looked like a mad scientist. Here is what I’ve dug out from my photo library. These photos were taken on the day when my hair was permed and cut short.I looked ridiculously skinny in the last picture. Thanks to the maggie mee hair and the design of the top didn’t help! I can’t even smile when I saw that sight of myself. MEDUSA!!!!
And of cos! It did not end there.
My hair was permed before it was cut. This way, the curls will look more natural and wavy.
Even with hair treatments, I hate perming my hair cos it makes it feels as coarse as men’s unkempt pubic hair. G-R-O-S-S.
I realised how much I used to love stroking my long hair after it was cut. So there was nothing much to stroke except for pubic hair on the head! I was upset for several weeks.
Then I grew out of it and my hair has been totally straight. Or shall I say, stubbornly straight, naturally. I guess having stubbornly straight hair is better than rebonding wavy hair to straight and perming straight hair to curly. The dyed hair also grew out of it, so my hair is jet black now.
Black hair has been looking good on me the last few months. It is maintenance-free but it looks rather dark / emo / conservative / serious on me. Not sure if I’m too used to change the way I look, or not used to having my hair in its natural colour; I find that all the clothes I have been wearing are either black, white or grey – so solemn – and I feel that I stick out like a sore thumb if I wear anything pastel.
These are some of my favourites pictures that I’ve photographed at Love, Chloe launch, at Fullerton Hotel last Friday.
Do you recognise any of the celebrities above?
This event incorporated an instant photo booth concept where guests received their photograph in a lovely frame at the end of the function. Instead of the standard instant group photos, we inject a dose of fashion to make the photograph more special and memorable for the guests.
…And that’s me! In minimal make up.
Cape: Chloe
Top: No brand
Skirt: M)phosis
Heels: Bought in Japan
You probably can’t tell that I’m a photographer from the way I dress, but that’s the way I am. I believe that my work should not compromise my style – just like the clothes I wear should not compromise my work quality.
I’ve been a closet K-pop lover after I grew out of the cutesy and whiney J-pop period. K-pop reeks of sex and edge in general; and their women are hotter – plastic surgery or not. Unlike the Japanese who tend to portray their girls in a submissive light, the female stars from Korea tend to look a lot more dominating. They are versatile and confident; they can be sexy and cute. And that’s really hot to me. (Hey, I’m not writing out all Japanese girls here. I love my Aki Hoshino very much.)
Anyway, I have been contemplating of getting suture blepharoplasty aka double eyelid surgery (stitching technique) recently. The idea of having a pair of bigger and sparkly eyes entices me very much. I don’t know about you, but I’m always open to discuss about cosmetic surgery/dentistry and aesthetics. A little tweak does make a whole lot of difference – like getting the teeth straightened, whitened, exercising to keep in shape, dressing up and wearing make up. Looking good makes me feel good too. However, I’m not motivated to get my eyes done at this point of time.
I don’t stick double eyelid stickers nor apply eye glue to create folds when I wear make up. Neither do I photoshop my eyes to make them larger than life. So cosmetic temptations aside, I actually like what I’m born with. I think it is pretty cool and cute. And if I really chose to do my eyelids one day, I’ll definitely go for something that suits me and not some crazy transformation to get a pair of huge manga eyes.
Incidentally, I stumbled upon Son Ga In’s music video on YouTube last night. I didn’t know about her until I saw the video. She’s the lead with the shortest hair. Her face looks kinda andro. So that is an additional point to the total hotness!!
Don’t you love it when my blog post starts off with a sexy bang? (Cos I do.)
I went bra frenzy with Michie at La Senza’s latest outlet, located at Marina Bay Sands last night. I wasn’t sure why I always end up buying things when I’m out with her… But it was a perfect opportunity for me. I’d been wanting to get new bras! It was about time.
My lingerie ranges from Victoria’s Secret, Pierre Cardin, Triumph to no labels; and I’ve always wanted to try out La Senza. Since Michie had asked me, I happily tagged along. I love most of their designs. Unlike other brands, I was most impressed by how they fitted me comfortably. To me, it’s always about finding the perfect fit and looking hot in it. Then, it is followed by taking good care and making it last.
TOP 3 TIPS FOR A LONG LASTING BRA
1. Hand wash
If you’re a lazy girl and let your washing machine do the job, you’ll be sure to wear out your new bra very quickly. Even if your washing machine is on delicate mode, nothing beats hand washing your bras.
2. Hang it dry… the right way
Hang it up side down and clip the bottom 2 sides of the bra (near the cup). I personally find that this is the best way to keep your bra in shape.
Never let it tumble dry in the machine! Air dry!!!!
3. Keep it properly
Don’t squeeze your bras in the drawer. Lay them nicely, like how the lingerie stores keep bras. Be proud of your inner wear!
Do share with me if you think you have better tips.
Also, I’m getting rid of my older bras. Even though some are still in really good condition, they don’t fit me well anymore. Anyone of you collect used bras here? Haha.
P.S. La Senza is having a store wide promotion right now. And the best part is, we are able to stack the promotion price with our membership discount. Best time to get new bras!
According to my mom, it helps when you dress down for your driving test.
Let’s hear what she has to say…
For girls: “If you dress up, revealing your legs and boobies, the tester will FAIL you so that he can see you again.”
For guys: “If you wear all things branded and look like some rich kid, the tester will FAIL you so you can’t race in your daddy’s sports car.”
So dress down. And that’s what my mom says.
P.S. I wore a pair of black specs, t-shirt, jacket, jeans, converse shoes and minimum make up for my driving test. The rest of the girls who wore skimpy tops and short shorts did not pass. I guess there’s some truth in my mom’s tip. Heh.
